Aapo 2. years old!

Juhuu today is Aapo's 2. Year Birthday!

Today we practiced some agility with ACD-s Greta and Poppy and irish setter Pipi. We did some easy tricks to keep the motivation high.

After training all the dogs had a piece of the delicious B'day cake, what consisted of Nature Diet salmon and turkey dog food. The dogs all loved it :)

Aapo eating the cake what he had to wait hours.... but it was worth it...

To make the day even more memorable to him - Aapo, Pipi and Greta had a swimming training with rescue dogs @ Harku lake. We can count ourselves really lucky to have the opportunity to participate in that kind of training at all :)) All the dogs weared special dogs life jackets to learn swimming correctly. The life jacket was a bit too big to Aapo, so next time he will get his own correct size. The thing is that there hasn't participated in water rescue trainings different breed dogs, only special water dogs.

Firstly we needed to get the dogs on the right mood playing with them on the water and to get them used to the situation and with the jackets. Later we had the opportunity to practice our dogs with the motorboat and let them swim from the motorboat far from the cast to us.

The rescue guys made sure the life jacket is correctly on before heading on to the lake..

The rescue team explaining to Aapo: "Here Aapo, pay attention, here what you are supposed to be doing.."

The rescue guys: "See Aapo, there is Jaanika. Swim to her, swim!"

Aapo: "Oh boy, here I go. I hope it's all worth it..."

Aapo: "Yeah, that's not bad, I'm swimming. Jaanika, here I come..."



Aapo: "That wasn't bad, but õhh the water is wet.. I'll just shake it off a little..."


Aapo: "Wee the land is great and now I wanna just run guickly to dry myself..."

The rescue guys made a joke, that Aapo is the diving dog. Cause when Aapo jumped from the boat he seriously dived into the water, not like others. But it was suppose to be the beginners habbit and will improve on time ;)) We also saw how the real rescue dogs train and do their work. Pretty interesting sight. The all experience was truly positive and already the next monday we can practice it again. Can't wait :)
