Tunnels First Cup Competition

This week was extremely busy. Thursday we had the opportunity, because of the good weather, to do some agility. This time I decided to walk to our training. We don't live that far of the training place - about 4-5 km far. So we did it. Walk to the training place was extremely freshing and Aapo could do his sniffings, etc. When we arrived there, he was nicely warmed up and really contactive. The agility training lasted about an hour and after the training we did some lieing down on group. While walking back home I noticed how tired I actually was. All the finishing masters degree, work stress and the end of the weekend thing hit me. It was really good physical training that day, what gave me some strenght. But on friday, it was off to work day to Aapo - he could rest a bit at home, while I and Greta's owner enjoyd some jazz music in Käsmu :) Aww it was breath taking: the place, the music, the sea... mmmm..

Today we participated in Tunnels first cup competition arranged by TAKO. The judge was Kristina Lukašejeva. We were signed in a beginners class, where participated the dogs who compete agility A1 level or who don't compete officially yet at all. There were all together 47 dogs.

Picture on the right - learning the bath and thinking if the boom will be tricky for us.

On the left - warming up.

Today Aapo was very disconcentred and his mood wasn't to do some sports much. Our first run was OK, but nothing good. He run it, but not with power or with thrill. You see his first run here.

Aapo's sister Shella (Milli Miller Vallatu Vanessa) competed too and she was in other hand speedy as usual and did really good in her first run! She was so guick and it was just enjoyable to watch her. You see her first run here. Shella had 3rd best time in the first run! Really nice and as proven again, she is truly fast like a border collie. All the best to you and we hope and we know your best times are still ahead.

The second run didn't went good, now Aapo was even more disconcentred and meanwhile he decided to go to the boom instead of the tunnel. After that he didn't feel like to do anymore tunnels for a while and in the end his willingness changed and he got the tempo up again.

In the end we were satisfied with the event and again we had great opportunity to practice with such good various distractions (where the shelter dogs barking constantly and crowd watching).

Results. Congratulations to all participants ;)

The next tunnels cup will be held on 26. july. The third cup will be between breeds and will be held on 16. august. The last cup will be on 6. septembre.

The participation fee will go for the support of the team who will present Estonia in the World agility championship :)

Also Julia (Naskurs owner) and Victoria (Berta's owner) gave me a good idea to buy some special footgare for agility. They just last day bought some good runners for todays competition. Actually I have thought to buy these special footgares as well. It is good to use them when the practice or competition is outside and when the grass could be slippery. Then this kind of footgare helps you not to slip. So thought and accomplished ;)

After that we went to celebrate my brothers sun 5. year birthday. Aapo got to play with the children. Sometimes children are so funny. One of them asked if Aapo's fur is so smooth because he is good boy and gets lots of caress hehee.

The day was long and full of events that not only Aapo is tired, but so am I.
